Escareno, Christie Finish Strong at North Central

Jesus Escareno finished second in the steeplechase on Friday
Naperville, Ill. – The UW-Parkside track & field team finished its final meet of the season at the Dr. Keeler Invitational hosted by North Central College. The Rangers will now await word on who has earned a spot to the NCAA Championships in Pueblo, Colorado on May 24-26.
 
Jesus Escareno, who earned first team All-GLVC honors earlier in the week, placed second in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. He ran it in 9:04.32, a little under three seconds off of the school record.
 
Hope Christie, also fresh off being named to the All-GLVC first team, placed third in the 1,500 meter run on Friday. She registered a time of 4:27.94 in the event. Jessica Watychowicz was 16th (4:42.80) and Taylor Miller finished 26th (4:46.18). Katherine Becker also ran the 1,500 and placed 37th (4:54.83) with Amanda Zittleman taking 38th (4:56.50).
