SOMERS, Wis. (Oct. 11, 2014)-- The 16th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's cross country squad placed all five scoring runners inside the top 25 on Saturday afternoon, placing second among the 17-team field at the 28th-annual Lucian Rosa Invitational at the Dannehl National Cross Country Course.

UW-Parkside tallied the runner-up finish, scoring 67 points in the team standings, placing only behind Canadian juggernaut University of Windsor. The Lancers, runner-up at the 2013 Canadian Interuniversity Sport Championships, collected 44 points to win the team title for the second consecutive season. The University of Chicago was third with 96 points while Wayne State University was fourth with 107 points.

For the third straight meet, Evan Lewandowski paced the Rangers, finishing sixth overall and fifth among collegiate finishers after traversing the 8,000-meter layout in 25 minutes, 15.5 seconds. KJ Matuszak finished 14th overall in 15:34.4 with Jake Dubnicka one second back in 15th. Eric Lindelsee crossed the tape in 25:38.9 to place 17th while Troy Cunningham was UW-Parkside's fifth man, crossing in 25:52.2 to snag a 24th overall finish.

Armando Torres was 33rd in 26:09.8 while Ron Hedman was two slots back in 35th (26:10.7).

Unattached runner Jacob Phillips bested the 231 runner field, completing the race in 24:59.9 while Michigan Tech University's Sean Pengelly was the top collegian, finishing second overall in 25:00.3.

The Rangers return to action next Saturday, heading up to Winneconne, Wisconsin for the Brooks Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
