Rangers capture UW-Parkside Invite title

The annual UW-Parkside Invitational has been run each year since 1987. For the first time ever, the UW-Parkside men's cross country team won its own invitational. The Rangers scored a team low 24 points, well ahead of second place Michigan Tech which checked in with 72.

A total of 99 runners finished the race, paced by UW-Parkside's Ben Orvold, who cruised to victory in 25:31 for the Lucian Rosa 8K run. Orvold finished 23 seconds ahead of runner-up Brian Stetter of Michigan Tech.

The four other Ranger scorers were Rehan Mahmood, 5th, 26:19; Josh Mulloy, 6th, 26:38; Alex Mena, seventh, 26:40, and Dustin Baldwin, 10th, 26:57.

UW-Parkside's Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course will be home to the Great Lakes Valley Conference championships Saturday, Nov. 4.
