INDIANAPOLIS – UW-Parkside second baseman
John Brennan has been named to All-GLVC Eastern Division First Team for his outstanding senior season leading the Rangers from the leadoff spot. He is the first Parkside player to be named to a first team since Andy Heller made the squad in 2007.
Brennan started all 49 games for a Ranger team that won its most games since 2007. He led the squad in hits (49), runs scored (31), and stolen bases (18). He was second on the squad with a .275 batting average and posted a .358 on-base percentage.
He had 12 multi-hit games including four, three-hit contests. He opened the season going 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI against nationally-ranked, Winona State. That came a few contests prior to his season-high ten-game hitting streak in which he went 15-for-37 (.405).
After an 0-for-2 game against Rockhurst he went on to hit safely in his next seven games. He also had consecutive three-hit games in April, along with a 4-for-9 doubleheader at Kentucky Wesleyan.
Jordan White from Kentucky Wesleyan and Donovan Drake from Indianapolis were named the league's Player and Pitcher of the Year. Gary Vaught of Indianapolis was Coach of the year while Andrew Naegeli of Maryville took home the Freshman of the Year award.
