Rynish Named to Capital One Academic All-District Team

Luke Rynish added to his impressive list of accomplishments with a spot on the Capital One All-District Academic Team
University of Wisconsin-Parkside wrestler Luke Rynish has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District team in conjunction with the College Sports Information Directors of America. The senior, who recently received the school's Male Athlete of the Year and Career Achievement Awards, will now advance for consideration as an Academic All-American.

Rynish, who is completing his student-teaching this semester, combined a record-breaking wrestling career with an outstanding academic performance. He has already received four Division II All-Academic Team honors from the National Wrestling Coaches Association. He was one of just four Division II wrestlers in the country to receive their fourth recognition this year.

He was named to the District Four team in the At-Large Category. The At-Large group includes all nominees in the following sports: wrestling, swimming, tennis, ice hockey, lacrosse, water polo, golf, and men's volleyball. He was also the only wrestler recognized in the District in Division II.

Rynish will leave the wrestling program with the most wins in school history; compiling a 148-36 mark. He was a three-time national runner-up. This past season he went 44-5 en route to a second place national finish. He led the nation in technical falls and won six tournaments including the NCAA Super Regional.
