NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association has named Jessica Watychowicz and Hope Christie as 2012 All-Region honorees for the outdoor track & field. Watychowicz was honored for her performance in the 5000m run while Christie earned her spot in the 1500m run.
 
Watychowicz, who gained a spot on three All-GLVC teams this year, was the conference champion in the 5000m run. She has a season-best time of 16:44.31 which qualified her for the 2012 Outdoor Track & Field Championships next weekend in Pueblo, Colo.
 
Christie placed second at the conference meet in two events including the 1,500m run. Her outdoor-best this season is 4:27.94. She will also be running for All-American status next weekend in Pueblo.
