The UW-Parkside women's track & field team had two representatives named to the 2012 All-Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field teams.
Jessica Watychowicz and
Hope Christie both earned a spot on the first team.
Watychowicz completes a year full of honors as she also gained a spot on the All-GLVC Cross Country and Indoor Track & Field teams. This past weekend she earned the 5,000 meter championship for the Rangers; her first conference title. She has one of the top times in the country and is a strong candidate to compete in the NCAA Championships at the end of May.
She also finished third in the 1,500 meter run at last weekend's outdoor championships. Watychowicz was also a two-time GLVC Female Athlete of the Week during the outdoor season.
Christie earned her second All-GLVC award this season after missing the indoor season due to injury. It is her third All-GLVC Outdoor honor and her ninth career conference recognition.
She placed second in a pair of events in Rensselaer last weekend. She posted a provisional time of 4:34.50 to finish second in the 1,500. Christie was also second behind Watychowicz in the 5,000. She then joined the 4x400 meter relay team that finished fifth overall.
The Rangers will run their final regular season meet this weekend at North Central College. UW-Parkside is at the Dr. Keeler Invitational on Thursday and Friday.
