Jesus Escareno was named to the 2012 All-Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field team the league announced this week. He earned a spot on the first team with his performance at last weekend's championships in Rensselaer, Indiana.
 
He was named to the second team in the indoor season. It's his fifth All-GLVC honor in his career in five seasons of competition.
 
The junior placed second in the 3,000 meter steeplechase on Friday afternoon. He posted a provisional time of 9:08.96.
 
He followed that effort up with a seventh place finish in the 1,500 meter run. He completed that race in 4:02.05. He was also eighth in the 5,000 meter run in 15:31.61
 
In all, Escareno ran 9,500 meters in competition last weekend while placing in each event.
 
The Rangers will run their final regular season meet this weekend at North Central College. UW-Parkside is at the Dr. Keeler Invitational on Thursday and Friday.
