SOMERS, Wis. (Dec. 4, 2012)-- Zygimantas Riauka posted his first double-double of the season as the University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's basketball squad continued its December homestand by pummeling Northland International University, 82-44, on Tuesday night inside DeSimone Gymnasium as the Rangers forced 24 turnovers and limited the Pioneers to just 12 first half points.

The Rangers (4-2) never trailed, scoring the game's opening bucket and utilizing an 8-0 run to grab a 10-2 lead with 15:41 remaining. A 15-0 spurt midway through the first half broke open the game, turning an 11-point game into a 26-point buffer as UW-Parkside enjoyed a 27-12 lead at intermission.

UWP maintained at least a 21-point buffer the entire second half, rolling to the 38-point victory.

Three Rangers finished the night in double figures with Jeremy Saffold leading the way with 20 points. Riauka finished with 16 points and a game-high 10 rebounds while grabbing five steals. Kevin Senechalle came off the bench and added 11 points while Bryant Smith doled out a game-high five assists.

Anthony Lewis paced the Pioneers (7-4) with 15 points with Micah Baines chipping in 13. Kyler Gardner grabbed a team-best eight rebounds while Josh Conover had four assists.

UWP shot just 38.9 percent (14-for-36) in the opening half before finding its stride in the second stanza, hitting 52.9 percent (18-for-34) of its opportunities. Northland was held to shooting just 28.6 percent from the floor (16-for-56) including a paltry 17.2 percent (five-for-29) in the opening half. The Rangers forced 24 turnovers during the game to net 23 points while giving the ball away just eight times.

The Rangers continue their four-game homestand on Saturday, welcoming Clarke University to DeSimone Gymnasium with tipoff slated for 3 p.m.
