STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Nov. 10, 2012)-- Winning four weight classes, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside wrestling squad opened up its 2012-2013 season on Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Open.

The Rangers finished 1-2 in the 125-pound weight class with Jacob Papke securing top honors, winning all three of his matches. Joseph Her was second, finishing the day 3-1, including a pin in the opening round against Waubonsee Community College's Cristian Martinez, earning the pin in four minutes, 28 seconds.

Dillon Bera won the 157-pound weight class, winning by tech fall, 15-0, over unattached competitor Steve Dewitt in the finals while Derek Davison secured a third place finish.

Matt Gille earned the championship at 184, defeating UW-Eau Claire's Mat Rieckhoff by major decision, 13-4.

Davion Willis was UW-Parkside's fourth weight class champion, earning the title at 197 with a 3-2 decision over Unattached competitor Roland Dunlap.

Nick Fishback tallied a third place finish at 165 pounds as did Montrail Johnson at 174 and James Malechek at 285.

The Rangers return to the mat next Saturday, heading to Mequon, Wis. for the Concordia Open.
