Ranger Women Claim Three Events at Carthage

The Ranger women won three events across town on Friday
Kenosha, Wis.- Charlotte Smith, Roxanne Stratenwerth, and Jessica Watychowicz all won an event to help lead the UW-Parkside women's track & field team to a sixth place finish at the Tadd Metzger Invitational hosted by Carthage College. The Rangers took an abbreviated roster across town and record 49 points at the event.

Smith won her first event of the season claiming the high jump with a best-mark of 1.55m. She also placed in the 200m dash finishing second in a time of 28.17.

Stratenwerth earned the title in the 400m dash for the second straight week after being victorious at Lewis last Friday. She shaved over a second off her time finishing in 1:01.08. She nearly pulled off the double as she finished second in the 200m's in 27.48. Teammate Rachel Bullis was fourth in that event at 27.74.

Watychowicz's victory came in the 3000m run after two straight weeks of winning the mile. She crossed the line in 10:27.26 on Friday nearly two seconds ahead of Rachel Dean of St. Xavier. Taylor Miller was fifth in that event for the Rangers at 10:42.61.

Amanda Zittleman just missed out on scoring for Parkside in the mile run as she finished in ninth place, one second off the eighth place slot.
