After an emotional win over ninth-ranked Indianapolis less than 24 hours prior, the UW-Parkside volleyall team took to the court once again in the DeSimone Gymnasium, this time against visiting Saint Joseph's Saturday afternoon. It was a similar result, but without all the drama, as the Rangers waltzed to a 25-11, 25-17, 25-18 victory.
The Rangers hit for a lofty .341 percentage in the contest, well ahead of their .245 season percentage. The Pumas were limited to a .109 ratio which included a .056 in the first set and a .034 in the second set.
No Ranger had double figures in kills in the abbreviated match which lasted less than an hour.
Caroline Langer,
Addie Kramer and
Cassy Marx each had eight kills in the balanced attack.
Courtney Stack and
Cayla Flood notched 15 assists apiece.
The win moves the Rangers' overall record to 7-3. The team is riding a five-match winning streak. The club is 2-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. In their last 19 sets, the Rangers are 15-4.
Saint Joseph fell to 3-7 overall and 0-2 in league play.
Next up for the Rangers is a non-conference match-up in Joliet, Illinois, against homestanding St. Francis, Wednesday, Sept. 22. The team returns home, and to conference action, when it hosts Illinois-Springfield Friday, Sept. 24. Both matches begin at 7:00 p.m.
