Lieberman wins Ranger Award

Jamie Lieberman won the Ranger Award at UW-Parkside annual award ceremony April 30. He graduated in December and is the goalkeeper's coach at Wright State.

Lieberman overcame a host of injuries during his career, including multiple knee surguries. Still, he played at a high level between the posts.

In 2006, he was 16th in the nation in goals against average and 11th in shutout percentage. In 2009, he was voted team MVP and was named to the NSCAA all-state team, which is very significant because Parkside is lumped in with the Division I schools.

He is a past president of SAAC.

Coach Rick Kilps said, “Jamie is absolutely loyal, proud of UWP, and is an outstanding spokesman for the school.”

Lieberman prepped at Racine Prairie High School.

The Ranger Award is defined as the person who best exemplifies the attributes of intercollegiate athletics while at Parkside. Examples may include, but are not limited to, dedication, commitment, effort, determination, overcoming adversity, and contributions to UW-Parkside Athletics.
