A pair of Rangers have been recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) for their efforts on the softball field in 2010.
Krista Kelly earned first team honors on the Louisville Slugger Midwest all-region team. Kelly made the grade as a utility/non-pitcher. Kelly split time between catcher and designated player.
Christine Holthus was tabbed for the Midwest all-region second team. The Ranger centerfielder made it in the outfield category.
Both are juniors and started all 51 games.
Kelly notched a .315 batting average for the 30-21 Rangers. She led the Rangers in home runs with 10 and in RBI with 43.
Holthus paced Parkside in hitting at .409. She was 32-38 in stolen bases. Holthus led the Great Lakes Valley Conference in triples with five.
