A total of 113 golfers competed at the Regional Invitational #3 held at Purgatory Golf Course in Noblesville, Indiana, April 11-12. UW-Parkside's
Andrew Troyanek finished in second place overall, shooting two under par for 36 holes. He was a scant two strokes off the pace set by Joe McGeean of Findlay.
Troyanek carded a 70 on Day One and followed up with a 72 for a 142 score. The course is a par 72 with a yardage of 7,369.
As a team, the Rangers finished in eighth place out of 23 squads. UWP carded a team total of 300-303=603, which was seven strokes behind seventh place Drury and three strokes better than both Northwood and Northern Kentucky. Wayne State (Mich.) was the winner with 283-297=580. The Warriors were a dozen strokes better than runner-up Ferris State.
The Rangers moved up two spots from 10th to eighth in the second round.
"Once again, we were able to make some progress toward a top 10 ranking in the region with some wins over key opponents," noted UW-Parkside coach
Mark Olsen.

Andy Hansen, 30th, 76-75=151;
Bob Tierney, 60th, 80-76=156;
Mike Keller, 68th, 77-80=157; and
Keith Buntrock, 75th, 77-81=158.
Next up is the Great Lakes Valley Conference meet Thursday-Friday, April 15-16, in Columbus, Indiana.
