UW-Parkside's Mike Pena is the Great Lakes Valley Conference baseball Player of the Week.

Pena paced the Rangers to three wins over the weekend, including a 7-2 victory in a non-conference contest at 26th-ranked Southern Indiana.

In four games, Pena hit .533 with three RBI and a run scored. He was 2-4 with a run scored in the win over the Screaming Eagles and returned on Saturday to go 5-8 with three RBI in a split with Wayne State (NE) and Southern Indiana.

Pena is hitting .350 on the season for the Rangers with four RBI, four runs scored and a pair of doubles.

UW-Parkside (4-8) has won four of its last five games and is within two wins of last year's win total. The Rangers will travel to Missouri S&T and Drury this weekend to open GLVC play. The road trip concludes with a non-conference game at Lincoln on Monday.
