Rangers handle Northland International

           The UW-Parkside men's basketball team had its way with visiting Northland International in the DeSimone Gymnasium Tuesday evening. The Rangers beat the Pioneers to a tune of 76-59. It was UW-Parkside's eighth win all-time against Northland International in as many tries.
            The Rangers are now 3-4 overall. Northland International left town with a 4-8 mark.
            The only lead of the game for Northland International was a brief one at 3-2. Tim Baines took the ball to the hole just 15 seconds after the Pioneers held the lead and the Rangers never looked back. The home team then employed a 17-4 run to open the game up.
            The Rangers led 45-25 at halftime. The team led by as many as 23 points early in the second half. Northland International threatened late in the game, whittling the margin down to as little as 10, before the Rangers pulled away in the final stages.
            Jordan Mach led the Rangers in scoring with 22 points. Two others joined him in double figures including Leneal Harris with 15 points and Ryan Callozzo with 11.
            The Rangers shot an even 50 percent from the floor in the game. Northland International made good on a respectable 42 percent.
            The Pioneers' top man in points was Seth Quirey who notched 19.
            This was the first of a seven game home stand for the Rangers. Next up is a date with Cardinal Stritch Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. The team will not play again after the Cardinal Stritch encounter until after Christmas. Cardinal Stritch currently has a 6-4 record.
