Wrestlers hand Oshkosh a goose egg

The UW-Parkside wrestling team, ranked No. 6 in NCAA Division II, made a trip to Division III UW-Oshkosh Wednesday night. The Rangers won all 10 matches en route to a 49-0 shutout over the Titans.

The win upped the Ranger dual meet record to 4-2. UW-Oshkosh leveled at 5-5.

The Rangers terminated two matches in under a minute. Jon Treml won by pin in the 197-pound match in 45 seconds and Craig Becker took just 10 seconds longer to secure victory at 149 pounds.

Six of the 10 matches resulted in pins.

The Rangers will return to Oshkosh for the annual UW-Oshkosh Open Sunday, Jan. 17,, starting at 9:00 a.m. The team will return home to tangle with UW-Stevens Point Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 7:00 p.m. The next day is a make-up contest at UW-Whitewater. The Thursday, Jan. 21, dual also begins at 7:00 p.m.
