UW-Parkside played host to an 8-team volleyball invitational Sept. 11-12. 

Each played four matches.

In match one for the Rangers, the team topped St. Cloud State, 25-19, 25-21, 19-25, 25-21. 

UW-Parkside set the tone in the first set, hitting at a lofty .469 clip. The squad hit .378 for the match, compared to .228 for St. Cloud State. Jen Johnson and Cassie Wilkens each had 13 kills in the match. 

Andrea Gust notched 32 assists.

In Parkside's next match, the team battled 15th ranked Minnesota State Mankato, but lost, 25-18, 18-25, 25-16, 25-19.

Johnson logged a dozen kills while Wilkens chipped in 11. Stacie Bower dished out a dozen assists.

The Mavericks hit for a .305 percentage. The Rangers weren't far off the pace at .282.

After Day One, the Rangers had a 9-2 record.

NON-UWP RESULTS
Saint Joseph's defeated UM-Crookston, 3-0.
Northwest Missouri State defeated Quincy, 3-1.
Indianapolis defeated Minnesota State Mankato, 3-2.
Saint Joseph's defeated Northwest Missouri State, 3-1.
UM-Crookston defeated Quincy, 3-0.
Indianapolis defeated St. Cloud State, 3-0.

END DAY ONE

The Rangers got back to their winning ways with a sweep of Northwest Missouri State, 25-21, 25-16, 25-20. Parkside never trailed in each of the final two sets.

Parkside hit for a .337 percentage contrasted with .184 for the Bearcats.

Cassy Marx had nine kills in 13 attempts with only one error for a sparkling .615 percentage.

After the Rangers' final match, a 27-25, 25-19, 25-22, win over Minnesota-Crookston, the team owned an 11-2 overall record. The 11-win total exceeds last season's entire win total (10).

Next up for the Rangers is a non-conference match with St. Xavier. It will be played in the DeSimone Gymnasium on the Parkside campus Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m.
