The UW-Parkside women's basketball team extended its winning streak to eight games after an 80-39 thrashing of Indiana University Northwest. The Rangers are now 10-1 overall. The Redhawks fell to 7-6.

The last non-conference game of the season was played in the DeSimone Gymnasium Thursday night.

All 16 players saw time for the Rangers with four scoring in double figures. Jadee Rooney led the way with 17 points, followed by Brittany Beyer with 15, Jen Moran with 14 and Brittany Hogen with a dozen.

Beyer led the team in rebounding with nine. Amanda Gibson dished out a team-high five assists.

The Rangers owned the boards, out-rebounding their guests by a 54-33 count. The winners shot 43 percent from the floor while limiting the Redhawks to 27 percent shooting.

Sharon Houston, who averages 22 points per game, was held to just 13 before fouling out.

The school record for the longest winning streak is 10, which was set last season. The team will look to extend its streak when it begins a four-game 10-day road trip. The first game is at Bellarmine Saturday, starting at 4:45 p.m. CST. The game time was changed by Bellarmine from an original noon start.
