The UW-Parkside wrestling team, ranked No. 11 in the country in NCAA Division II, had one champion at the St. Cloud State Open Saturday. Luke Rynish progressed through the brackets and came out on top in the 174-pound weight class.

No team scores were kept.

Rynish went 4-0 on the day. He defeated Brice Wolf of Northern Iowa, 9-6, in the finals. The Ranger grappler has a record of 12-4 on the season.

Six other Ranger wrestlers earned top three finishes. Three grabbed runner-up spots and included Matt Gille (165) Dillon Bera (157) and Jon Treml (197).

Craig Becker (149) lost his first this season, but rebounded to take third place. Becker is now 10-1.

Lucas Haag (184) finished third as did Cody Zimmerman (125).
