UW-Parkside men's soccer player Niklas Boedts was picked as a first team all-Midwest Region player. The team is sponsored by Daktronics and is voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors Association of America (CoSIDA).

Boedts, a 6-3 sophomore midfielder from Bueren, Germany, was a major reason the Ranger posted a successful 13-5-2 record. He led the Rangers in scoring with 26 total points on the strength of a team-leading 10 goals and six assists. Three of his goals were game-winners.

Great Lakes Valley Conference champion Drury University had the largest representation on the 2009 Daktronics NCAA Division II Midwest Region men's soccer teams. The Panthers placed six players on the first team.

Northern Kentucky's Steven Beattie was selected as the Midwest Region Player of the Year.
