Two UW-Parkside women’s volleyball players have earned all-conference honors. This is the first time since 2003 that the Rangers have had multiple members recognized by the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Sophomore Addie Kramer (Appleton, Wis./Xavier) earned second team honors as an opposite hitter. Teammate Tami Gleason (Kieler, Wis./Cuba City), a junior, was selected to the third team as a middle hitter.

“Both Addie and Tami had an outstanding season and were major contributors to our overall success,” said UW-Parkside first-year head coach Michele Benoit.

Kramer had a hitting percentage of .321 and had 288 kills to her credit. She registered 78 total blocks.

“Addie became one of our go-to players when we needed to terminate as well as being a dominating blocker,” cited Benoit.

Gleason led the Rangers in kills with 295 and hit for a .325 percentage, which was tops on the team. She logged 22 serving aces, dug up 211 balls and paced the squad in total blocks with 163.

“Tami established herself as one of the national leaders in blocks and did a great job adjusting to playing all-around for us about a third of the way through the season,” noted Benoit. “This speaks volumes for her athleticism.”

The Rangers had their best record since 1997 in posting a 21-12 overall record this season.

“Both of our all-conference players have been statistical leaders for the team and have ranked high in the conference as well,” said Benoit. “This is a much deserved recognition for both players and the team as a whole.”
