The UW-Parkside women’s soccer team placed five of its members on the all-Great Lakes Valley Conference teams.
First team selections for UWP include sophomore forward Shannon Becker (DePere, Wis./DePere) and senior midfielder Meredith Novak (Batavia, Ill./Batavia). Senior forward Becky Zirlin (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) garnered second team honors, while junior defender Caitlin Moon (Waukesha, Wis./West) and sophomore goalkeeper Cassie Glodowski (Waupaca, Wis./Waupaca) were noted on the third team.
Becker, last season’s Freshman of the Year, leads the Rangers in scoring with 29 total points on nine goals and 11 assists. Novak, last year’s Offensive Player of the Year, continues her scoring spree with eight goals and 12 assists so far this season.
Zirlin has 23 total points to her credit on eight goals and seven assists.
Moon anchors a defense which Glodowski has backstopped in each minute this season. Glodowski and the Rangers have a goals against average of 0.56 with eight shutouts.
