Andy Hansen qualified for the NCAA Division II Golf Super Regional in Findlay, Ohio. The lone Ranger representative finished in 36 place out of 45 golfers.
Three rounds were shot and Hansen carded an 80, a 74 and an 81 for a total of 235. His score was 19 over par for the par 72, 7,153-yard Red Hawk Run Golf Course.
"Andy had a nice comeback yesterday in the first nine holes," explained UW-Parkside coach Mark Olsen. "He played his first nine holes (the back nine) in an even par 36. Then, disaster struck."
Hansen shot his highest score for nine holes in his collegiate career, a nine over par 45 on his final nine. A couple of lost balls combined with some missed putts upped his score.
"Andy had performed well enough to be selected and hopefully this experience will help in future events," reasoned Olsen. "He is a sophomore with two more cracks at it."
