Missouri-St. Louis      Missouri S&T       Quincy

The UW-Parkside women's volleyball team spent plenty of time on the court and in a bus during a three-match road trip in three days. The trip has stops at Missouri-St. Louis, Missouri S&T and Quincy, October 9-11.

The road was not kind to the Rangers, as they dropped all three Great Lakes Valley Conference matches.

The trip opened with a quick match at Missouri-St. Louis Thursday night. The host Tritons needed just 65 minutes in posting a 25-11, 26-24, 25-11 win over the Rangers.

The Tritons hit fo a lofty .583 percentage in the final set, committing only one error. The home team hit for a .271 percentage for the match, compared to the Rangers' .069. No UW-Parkside player could muster more than five kills.

The team lost a grueling match at Missouri S&T. After getting thumped in the first set, 25-5, the Rangers rebounded with a 25-23 victory, before losing by that exact same score. Again, the Rangers showed their resilience, in logging a 25-15 win, forcing a fifth and deciding set. Still, nothing was decided at 15-15. The Miners then pulled in front and scored an 18-16 triumph taking the set and the match.

Addie Kramer recorded 13 kills and had a hitting percentage of .286 for Parkside. Andrea Gust was credited with 36 assists. Tami Gleason had seven solo blocks and two block assists.

The trip concluded at Quincy Saturday afternoon. The homestanding Hawks took the Rangers in four sets, 25-20, 23-26, 25-23, 25-16.

Gleason had 14 kills and a hitting percentage of .344.

The trio of losses drop the Rangers to 6-15 overall and 2-10 in the GLVC. The team will look to get back on the winning track at the GLVC-GLIAC cross-over tournament in Indianapolis Friday-Saturday, Oct. 17-18. The team will play four matches versus teams from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
