University of Wisconsin Parkside Athletics

Members of the UW-Parkside track team split up to take part in various events last weekend. The following chronicles their competitions.

Missy Nilles earned the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Track Title in the Pole Vault. Her winning vault was 3.35m (10' 11.75").  Nilles helped the UWP women's team to a seventh place finish.   The UWP Distance Medley Relay Team of Hope Christie, Danielle Dietz, Jessica Watychowicz, and Whitney Olson earned the next best UWP finish with a second place with a time of 12:31.81.  The same group came back to place fifth in the 4 x 400m Relay in a time of 4:15.87.   Watychowicz placed fourth in the 800m Run with a career best time of 2:20.39.  Christie also earned a fourth place in the Mile Run with an career best time of 5:09.79.

Heidi Ertl ran 17:54.44 in the Women's Invitational 5000m Run at the "Big Meet" hosted by Grand Valley State.  Her time was within a few seconds of the career best which she turned in at the UWP Ranger Open on Jan. 22.  Her improvement this winter, over her career best set last winter of 18:26.99, has moved her into the Top 40 of Division II runners on the NCAA list.
